Kay Liddle, of PM Property Lawyers, has won Best Conveyancing Paralegal at the inaugural National Paralegal Awards.
The awards ceremony, held at the May Fair Hotel in London, celebrated the achievements of paralegals across all sectors of the UK legal profession and was attended by more than 200 guests. In their summing up, the judges cited Kay’s extensive specialist knowledge and experience and commented that she was ‘an outstanding entrant’.
Speaking afterwards, Kay said: “It was a huge surprise to win against such a strong field and an absolute honour even to be a finalist. Paralegals make a big contribution to the success of our law firms and it’s fantastic that we’re being recognised in this way for the work we do.”
Kay has more than 30 years’ experience in the conveyancing sector, starting her career as an office junior and progressing to her current role as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director while also running her own caseload of conveyancing files.
PM Property Lawyers Managing Director, Harvey Harding, added: “I have seen Kay develop over the last 3 years to be the most adept conveyancing paralegal within our business and within our group of more than 300 employees. More importantly she is a great human being who treats our customers with great care and sensitivity, whomever they may be. She is a very worthy winner and I am extremely proud to be working with her.”
There was more to celebrate for PM Property Lawyers as Trainee Property Lawyer Laura Morley was also a finalist in the Conveyancing Paralegal category and the firm was shortlisted for the Best Paralegal Development Award.
