Graduate Recruitment – Press Release

Bright future ahead for Law Graduates in Sheffield

Award-winning Sheffield firm PM Property Lawyers welcomed a bumper crop of law graduates over the summer, as part of their Graduate Recruitment Scheme, which aims to create the next generation of conveyancing stars.

The graduates joined the firm in roles supporting specialist Property Lawyers and will progress through the bespoke training academy to become Property Lawyers themselves. These next generation property lawyers will take advantage of PMPL’s one of a kind Passport training programme, which includes a host of learning experiences, including face-to-face training, online learning, on-the-job experience and mentoring from peers and experienced lawyers, covering legal and practical skills. The programme equips the latest recruits with everything they need to progress to take on their own caseload, and give PMPL’s customers a great experience when buying, selling or remortgaging their property.
In collaboration with a number of local and national universities, PMPL has drawn on the cream of young legal talent and among the multi-talented people joining us this summer are:

Tadiwa, who’s from Zimbabwe, has a Biology degree, and is now pursuing a legal career having done the Graduate Diploma in Law. He has a real desire to learn, having been a non-swimmer this is demonstrated by his commitment to learning to swim in his 20s!

Jacob, from Barnsley, who having played youth cricket for Yorkshire may be the founding member of the PMPL cricket team!

Lucy, who hails from Rotherham and is another Sheffield Hallam graduate, is even more nimble, and is part of a national dance team which represents Team England in the USA World Championships each year – we can’t wait to see her moves on the dancefloor at the Christmas party!

Arabella, who is from Sheffield and also studied at Sheffield Hallam, is also another active sportsperson – this time with horse riding, and has two horses – although so far we haven’t seen them in the car park…

Chris, also a Barnsley native, graduated from Sheffield Hallam University and will bring a whole new dynamic to the team by speaking Mandarin Chinese.

Another expert linguist is Laura, who is from Sheffield and studied at the University of Derby, who is fluent in Polish and is already taking her legal education one step further by starting her LPC this autumn.

Crazy about music is Chesterfield-born Rebekah, who studied her MLP at the University of Huddersfield. As well as seeing over 40 West End and touring musicals, she has also been in 6 amateur musicals and several professional productions, including panto (oh yes she has!)

Clementine, who comes from Rwanda (via Rotherham) spent a year working as a model in New York and was even in a Barbie commercial. While we can’t offer the glamour of the catwalk, we can give her great career opportunities.

Cody, Sheffield born-and-bred, has just graduated with a first-class honours degree from Sheffield Hallam University and is really excited to start her legal career with PMPL.

Managing Director Harvey Harding said: ‘We’re really excited to have some great talent joining us, and I’m looking forward to seeing their successes as they become a valuable part of our team’

Steven Sutherland, PM’s Head of Training, added: ‘We’re really proud of our innovative Passport Scheme, which we have been running for over 6 years. Every new intake is a chance to develop the scheme further, and we’re thrilled to have another group embarking on their legal career with us’

All the graduates have got off to a great start and we can’t wait to see the contribution they will make to PMPL.
