MD RAISES OVER £13,000 FOR ROUNDABOUT

Harvey in RideLondon

Just less than a year ago, our very own Harvey Harding set out to complete not just 1 but 2 gruelling charity events just 15 days apart. All of this was to help raise money for an amazing local charity, Roundabout, who help house local youths.

On the 18th of September 2021, Harvey completed the tough swim around Hyde Park’s famous Serpentine Lake, as part of the UK’s biggest open water swimming event.

With Harvey having smashed the swim, there was then the small task of completing a 26.2 mile run around the streets of London in the London Marathon, not to mention while battling an ankle injury.

Harvey’s current total at the time was well over £4000, but he wasn’t going to stop there…

Early this year Harvey decided he now wanted to complete the last of the London classics by completing the 100 mile bike ride, Ride London. Even though Harvey started late, he still managed to smash the £1000 target he set to raise by raising £3115 in just 19 days.

It wasn’t just Harvey doing the fundraising too. Everyone at PMPL wanted to get involved too to help raise money for Roundabout. Over the past year we have got involved in as many ways as possible, from donating 1000’s of items from food to toiletries, to running bake sales and fancy dress days to doing a big sleep out in Sheffield. Our charity committee has done a fantastic job in getting everyone involved and helping raise as much money as possible.

Fast forward to today and we have raised over an astonishing £13,000 for Roundabout!

We spoke with Emily Bush from Roundabout about Harvey’s support and the money we have raised for them, “We would like to give a massive thank you to Harvey for his brilliant support.

The London Marathon, Serpentine Swim, Ride London and Roundabout’s annual Sleep Out events are enormous challenges and to have not only completed these but to have raised more than £13,000 is an extraordinary achievement and one that will have a genuine impact on our work.

Roundabout supports up to 300 young people in South Yorkshire every day and currently has around 100 living in private rented accommodation, all needing varying levels of support.

Without the dedication and enthusiasm of fundraisers like Harvey and the whole PMPL team that level of support would simply not be possible.”

I’m sure with many more charity events to come in the future and possibly some more crazy challenges to come from Harvey, we can get that number even higher.
