New video for deaf and hearing impaired clients

BSL video for deaf and hearing impaired clients

BSL conveyancing video now available

Deaf and hearing impaired clients will soon be able to watch BSL (British Sign Language) videos in our resource library. The first – A Guide To Shared Ownership – is now live and you can watch it here. Over the coming months, there will be BSL versions of more of the existing videos. These cover Right To Buy, Buying a Newbuild Property, Property Searches and What To Do When You Receive Your Client Care Pack.

Why are we doing this?

It’s well known that buying or selling a property can be complicated and stressful. The conveyancing process is difficult to understand at the best of times. It’s even harder for those with hearing problems who can’t simply pick up the phone and ask their property lawyer for help. The BSL videos aim to answer some of the most common questions in an accessible format .

This is just part of our plan to make our services easier to use for a wide range of clients:

+ As well as the BSL videos, all videos have transcripts so deaf and hearing impaired clients have the option to read the information.

+ For clients with a visual impairment, we print documents in 16pt on yellow paper to maximise readability. We also provide signature guides to make it easier to sign correctly.

+ Our whole team has been trained as Dementia Friends so we can best help our clients who are living with this illness.

The aim is to simplify the conveyancing process for all our clients, no matter who they are.
