Not all superheroes wear capes!

Here at PM Property Lawyers (PMPL), we have our very own NHS worker as part of our fantastic team. In addition to her day job with us, Kayleigh Heseltine is also an Auxiliary Nurse at Barnsley Hospital.  In a brief moment away from her desk, we were able to gain a little bit more information from one of our very own superstars.

First we asked her about her role in PMPL….

What is your job title? – Claims Complaints Manager

What does your job entail? – I deal with client complaints on a daily basis, and work with clients to help find a resolution to their concerns.

What do you find most rewarding about working to resolve complaints? – I find it really rewarding to identify areas for service improvement and improve client communication.  I enjoy being in a position to reduce future incidents for the business and clients alike and in particular provide any training and coaching to our team to assist them in their roles.

What was it about working for us that attracted you? – I’ve always worked in customer service positions of some description, so knew that the role would suit my skillset, and whilst I have never worked in the legal sector previously the role really interested me.  I knew that this would be a great challenge personally and professionally.

If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be – and would you listen? – I would tell my younger self to listen more in school, and be proactive rather than reactive.  As I have matured this has been a steep learning curve that I wish I’d taken on board sooner.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself? – I love shopping!! I would go shopping every day of the week if I could.

Would you recommend the firm and, if so, why should other people look to join the team? – Yes!! It’s a growing business and there are lots of exciting opportunities available.

We then asked her questions about her NHS role…

What is your job role? – I’m an Auxiliary Nurse

Where do you work? – Barnsley Hospital

What does your job entail? – My key responsibility is to ensure that a patient is comfortable.  I assist patients with hygiene, dressing and bathroom activities. I’m responsible for distributing the correct meals, as well as logging food and fluid intake for patient records.  I take and log their blood pressure and temperatures too.

Do you enjoy it? – I’ve worked for the NHS for 10 years, each shift is challenging and you don’t know what to expect from one day to the next, I really enjoy the variety that each shift brings.

Most rewarding aspect of your job? – The most rewarding thing about being an auxiliary nurse is making a positive difference to the lives of others.

A big thanks to Kayleigh for answering these questions and giving us an insight into her life at PMPL and the NHS.
