As a specialist conveyancing firm, we are fully aware that not everyone is as fortunate as the people that we help to move home. This is one of the reasons why we support Roundabout, a wonderful charity committed to preventing youth homelessness across South Yorkshire.
2 months ago, our dedicated charity committee decided to embark on a venture to help support Roundabout, whilst also creating a competition between our teams to see which of them could organise the most donations. We wanted to encourage our teams to see how many donations of food, toiletries and household items they could raise to support Roundabout.
The team have not disappointed. They have gathered in excess of 1000 items for this incredible local charity.
Roundabout are a South Yorkshire based youth housing charity who provide shelter, support and life skills to young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Set up over forty years ago, their aim is to end youth homelessness in South Yorkshire, and now with over 250 young people living in their accommodation every day they’re doing an amazing job.
We spoke with Helen Mower from Roundabout about what they do, the support they need and how we could provide some support, “Roundabout strive to support young people in difficult circumstances who find themselves homeless. Our wrap around support ensures they are safe, have appropriate accommodation, and receive the support they need to develop the life skills, confidence, and self-esteem to progress living independently.
We appreciate the support of individuals, groups and companies, who want to make a difference for these young people. Whether this is as Charity of the year; a one-off donation; or gifts of food, toiletry and new household items to support young people as they start their journey to independence – all support makes a positive difference.
We’re incredibly grateful to the PMPL charity committee who have so successfully encouraged donations of so many toiletries and food items which will be so appreciated by the young people we support.”
On September 1st, we handed over all the donations we have received from our fantastic team to Roundabout.
